I saw this post on Pinterest last week & thought it would be perfect for when we’d been playing outside on a cold winters day, which turned out to be today!

DD1 (5), DH & I loved it, DD2(2.5) wasn’t sure about it, but as she’s a bit under the weather (yet another ear infection) I’ll try giving it to her again another day – perhaps without the cinnamon sprinkles (which DD1 couldn’t get enough of!)

The original recipe used honey to sweeten the drink, but I used Maple Syrup instead, so think this could easily be made vegan. (I’ve never tried warm almond milk, but now I’ve thought of it I really want to try it as it sounds delicious)

The amounts below are for one (grown-up) person. Multiply up as appropriate for the age/greed of your audience.


  • 250ml your favourite milk
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnnamon
  • 0.5 tsp maple syrup
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla
  • more ground cinnnamon for sprinkling


  1. mix everything up in a pan
  2. warm gently (don’t boil), then put in the blender to froth up
  3. pour into cups (I cooled the ones for the kids down a bit by adding some more cold milk), and sprinkle more cinnamon on the top
