I had some fruit left over from the Traffic Light Smoothies, so I thought I’d try making some more smoothie & freezing it.
The peeling & chopping of the fruit isn’t as much of a faff as you think it’s going to be (honest!) The amount below made 6 lollies and 2 glasses of smoothie (which I drank!)
DD2 was VERY impressed when I got them out when they got home from childcare today – my only worry is that she will refuse to ever eat a normal lolly again!
Ingredients
Green layer:
- 2 kiwi, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 pear, peeled and chopped
- 1/8 honeydew melon, sliced
- 75ml apple juice
Amber layer:
- 1 mango, peeled and stoned
- 1/8 honeydew melon, sliced
- 50ml orange juice
Red layer:
- 100g strawberries
- 50g raspberries
- 1/8 honeydew melon, sliced
- 50ml cranberry juice
Instructions
- Place the green layer into a blender and thoroughly whizz. Transfer to a separate jug and rinse out the blender.
- Repeat with the remaining layers.
- Carefully spoon mix into lolly moulds & freeze.
